A/N: This is so completely different for me, and I hope you will all stick with me throughout this crazy ride.  I've been an X-Men fan for years, but this is my first foray into the land of fic for it!  Anyway.  I'm pretty pleased with it so far, and I promise you, it only gets better from here.  ;)  I tried to get as many familiar faces into this story as I could, and I hope I do their characters justice, because I think they are amazing characters with awesome personalities.  Of course, the "Rogue" in this chapter is not the Rogue we all know and love, this chapter is just setting her up to become such.  Anyway, thanks for giving this a shot, and I hope you enjoy what I've done with it!  Also!  I don't recall if Rogue is ever given a birthday in canon, I did a TON of research for this, but nothing like that came up.  So if anyone knows if there's a FOR SURE birthday for her, let me know, please!  :D

I don't see a consistent pattern. They're either extremely short sentences, or extremely long ones. I'm glad I don't have a specific pattern but I'm not sure if all of them are instantly eye-catching. I think I'm happiest with Saturdays were for gossip, even in the midst of war. It's simple yet effectively draws readers in by making them go "Wait, what?" at the contrast.

I won't be there.  But my publisher will.
